Sarah
Abraham's wife, mother of Isaac and grandmother of God's covenant people — first called barren, then named «mother of nations» when God kept his promise.
Originally Sarai (meaning «my princess»), she was renamed Sarah («princess») when God promised that kings of peoples would come from her. Despite her age and barrenness, she became the mother of Isaac, through whom the covenant continued.
Sarah's story includes deep faith and very human doubt — laughing in unbelief at God's promise, then living to see her son. The New Testament holds her up as an example of trusting God despite the impossible (Hebrews 11:11).
