Hebrew word · Strong's H905

בַּד

bad · bad · adverb · “alone, separation”

In a sentence

Bad means alone, separate — used famously of God's uniqueness («the LORD alone is God») and tenderly of those for whom it is «not good to be alone.»

Bad describes being apart, alone, separate. Adam was not to be alone — «it is not good for the man to be l'vad-do.» God provides a partner.

And bad describes God too: «the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other besides him alone (l'vad-do).» God's uniqueness and human need both meet in this small word.
