Hebrew word · Strong's H6213

עָשָׂה

ʻâsâh · aw-saw' · verb · “to make, do”

In a sentence

ʿAsah means to make or do — the most common Hebrew verb of action. God makes the heavens and earth; he calls his people to do justice.

ʿAsah is the workhorse Hebrew verb «to do, make.» God ʿasah the heavens and the earth; he ʿasah covenant with Abraham; he calls Israel to ʿasah his commandments.

Micah 6:8 hinges on it: «what does the LORD require of you but to ʿasah justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.» Doing, not just believing or feeling, is at the heart of Hebrew piety.
