βλαστάνω
blastánō · word · “to see, look at”
Blepō means to see, look at, behold. It often carries the weight of focused attention — "Look (blepete) at the birds of the air" — and warning: "Take heed (blepete)."
Blepō covers ordinary seeing, but in the Gospels and Paul it often summons attentive looking — to creation, to one's own walk, to the kingdom drawing near.
It is also Jesus' warning verb: "See (blepete) that no one leads you astray." To see truly is to discern and act.
Definition: to germinate; by implication, to yield fruit
KJV usage: bring forth, bud, spring (up)
