παραγίνομαι
paragínomai · verb · “to be present, come”
Paraginomai means to be present, arrive, come on the scene — used of the arrival of John the Baptist, Jesus, and the Spirit's coming on Pentecost.
Paraginomai pictures an arrival, often significant: «John the Baptist appeared (paraginomai)» preaching in the wilderness. It marks moments of God's coming in person.
The verb also describes ordinary travelers arriving — but its theological weight rests on God-sent arrivals. The kingdom comes not by abstraction but by people arriving with the word.
Definition: to become near, i.e. approach (have arrived); by implication, to appear publicly
KJV usage: come, go, be present
