οὐρανός
ouranós · noun · “heaven, sky”
Ouranos means heaven or sky — the visible heavens and the dwelling place of God. The Lord's Prayer addresses «our Father in heaven (en tois ouranois).»
Ouranos covers the skies, the cosmos, and the realm of God. The «kingdom of heaven» in Matthew (basileia tōn ouranōn) is the same as Mark and Luke's «kingdom of God.»
Heaven is where God's throne is, where Christ ascended, where treasure is laid up safely beyond moth and rust. It is also where the new earth descends from at the end (Revelation 21).
Definition: the sky; by extension, heaven (as the abode of God); by implication, happiness, power, eternity; specially, the Gospel (Christianity)
KJV usage: air, heaven(-ly), sky
