καλός
kalós · adjective · “beautiful, noble, good”
Kalos means good — but with an emphasis on beautiful, noble, fitting. Jesus is the «good (kalos) shepherd»; works seen by others are kalos so the Father is glorified.
Kalos overlaps with agathos but leans toward visible, attractive goodness — what is noble, fitting, beautiful. Jesus calls himself the «good shepherd» using kalos: not just morally right but beautifully self-giving.
He tells his followers to let their light so shine before others that they may «see your good (kalos) works and give glory to your Father.» Kalos is goodness visible enough to draw the eye to God.
KJV usage: X better, fair, good(-ly), honest, meet, well, worthy
