Greek word · Strong's G18

ἀγαθός

agathós · adjective · “good”

In a sentence

Agathos means good — morally good, kind, beneficial. It describes God himself («no one is good but God alone») and the good works he prepares for his people.

Agathos means «good» in the deep sense — not merely useful but morally beautiful and beneficial. Jesus tells the rich young ruler, «No one is good but God alone.»

Ephesians 2:10 says we were «created in Christ Jesus for good (agathos) works.» Paul prays God to «equip you with everything good for doing his will.» Agathos describes both who God is and what he produces in his people.
