ἐν
en · preposition · “in”
En means «in» — and rides Paul's great phrase «in Christ» (en Christō), found over 80 times. To be «in Christ» is the deepest identity of every believer.
En is a small word that does heavy work. Paul's signature theology lives in it — «in Christ Jesus,» «in him,» «in the Spirit,» «in the Lord.»
Every spiritual blessing the Christian has is en Christō (Ephesians 1:3). Salvation, sanctification, security — they are all «in him.» To know Paul is to know the weight of this preposition.
