Greek word · Strong's G1410

δύναμαι

dýnamai · verb · “to be able”

In a sentence

Dunamai means to be able — capable, having power to do. Behind it lies dynamis (power). The verb of Christian capability: «I can do all things through him who strengthens me.»

Dunamai shares its root with dynamis. It asks whether something can be done. Jesus says, «With God all things are possible (dunamai).»

Paul writes, «I can (dunamai) do all things through him who strengthens me» — Christian capability is God's gift, not human native power.
