Zacchaeus

A chief tax collector in Jericho — short of stature, big in fortune — who climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus and went home transformed.

Jesus, passing through Jericho, called Zacchaeus down by name and went to his house.

Zacchaeus stood up and pledged half his goods to the poor and four-fold restitution to any he had defrauded — the fruit of grace, not its price.

Jesus said: "Today salvation has come to this house. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."
