Tabernacle

A portable tent-sanctuary God commanded Israel to build at Sinai so he could dwell among them through their wilderness journey.

The tabernacle was designed in heaven and built on earth — a divine pattern for the meeting place between God and his people.

It had three parts: outer court, holy place, and most holy place where the ark of the covenant rested. Only the high priest entered the latter, once a year.

John 1:14 says the Word "tabernacled" among us — the meeting place is now a person.
