Solomon
David’s son and successor, famed for his God-given wisdom and for building the first temple in Jerusalem.
Asked by God what he desired, Solomon requested wisdom to govern, and God granted it along with great wealth. He built the temple and led Israel to its height of glory.
Traditionally credited with Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Songs, Solomon’s later compromises also showed how even the wise can drift from God.
