Philip

One of the Twelve disciples — and later one of the Seven deacons who brought the gospel to Samaria and to the Ethiopian eunuch on a desert road.

The New Testament has two prominent Philips. One was an early disciple of Jesus who introduced Nathanael («Come and see») and asked Jesus, «Lord, show us the Father.»

The other Philip was a Greek-speaking deacon (Acts 6). After persecution scattered the church, he preached in Samaria with great power and then was led by the Spirit to baptize an Ethiopian official reading Isaiah — one of Acts' early signs that the gospel was for all nations.
