Nehemiah

A cupbearer in the Persian court who returned to Jerusalem and led the rebuilding of its walls — a model of bold prayer, careful planning, and trust in God.

When Nehemiah heard that Jerusalem's walls were broken, he wept, fasted, and prayed. King Artaxerxes sent him to rebuild them. In fifty-two days, despite ridicule and threats, the work was done.

Nehemiah is famous for praying constantly while acting decisively. He stands beside Ezra as a leader who rebuilt not just stones but a people's faithfulness to God.
