John (the Apostle)

The ‘disciple whom Jesus loved,’ traditionally the author of the Gospel of John, three letters, and Revelation.

One of the inner three, John was close to Jesus at the Last Supper and stood by the cross, where Jesus entrusted his mother to him.

He wrote of love and of Jesus as the Son of God, and received the visions of Revelation while exiled on Patmos.
