Habakkuk (prophet)
A prophet who dared to ask God why he tolerated injustice — and was answered that "the righteous shall live by his faith," a key verse Paul would later quote.
Habakkuk's short book is an honest exchange with God about evil. He complains; God answers.
The line "the righteous shall live by his faith" (2:4) became foundational for Paul (Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11) and for the Reformation.
He ends with one of Scripture's greatest songs of trust: "Though the fig tree should not blossom… yet I will rejoice in the LORD."
