Ephesus
A major Asian city with the temple of Artemis — where Paul taught for two years and the gospel «prevailed mightily,» and to which he later wrote the letter to the Ephesians.
Ephesus was a strategic Roman port and home to one of the seven wonders of the ancient world — the great temple of Artemis. Paul taught daily there in the hall of Tyrannus for two years; «all the residents of Asia heard the word of the Lord» (Acts 19:10).
Tradition says the apostle John later lived there, caring for Mary the mother of Jesus. Ephesians is one of Paul's richest letters, soaring over our identity in Christ and ending with the armor of God.
