Elisha
The prophet who succeeded Elijah — given a «double portion» of his master's spirit — and ministered through decades of Israel's history with mercy and power.
When Elijah was taken to heaven, Elisha asked for and received a double portion of his spirit. His ministry was longer and quieter than Elijah's, full of compassionate miracles — multiplying oil for a widow, raising a Shunammite woman's son, healing Naaman's leprosy.
Elisha walked with kings and farmers, defending the prophets' school and rebuking unfaithful rulers. His story shows that God's power is not always loud; often it is patient, present mercy through a long obedience.
